New Hospiscare shop opens in Heavitree

The people of Heavitree have a new shopping opportunity available to them: a brand-new shop has been opened there by the long established and popular local charity, Hospiscare. The shop was formally opened on Wednesday March 22nd by Paula Lawford, Chair of Exeter Friends, former trustee and founder member of the charity. The shop sells a range of ladies clothes, has an excellent men’s department and an array of electrical goods and homewares.

The new shop will bring the number of retail outlets run by Hospiscare up to twenty-one with shops operating across mid and east Devon...

Earlier in March, Hospiscare was delighted to welcome a ‘sell-out’ crowd of men and boys, who joined the Hospiscare Charity Men’s Walk 2017, walking 8 miles in the fine weather along the canal path from Double Locks to the Turf Hotel and back again, to enjoy a pint, a Chunk pasty and watch England beat Scotland to retain the Calcutta Cup.

Event fundraiser, Sharon Ewart said, ‘There was a fantastic atmosphere on the day. This is a very popular event where the vast majority of the men, many of whom have been touched by Hospiscare’s services, return year on year to support us.’...

Crealy raises £10,000 for WESC and announces new charity partnerships

Crealy Adventure Park & Resort has raised £10,000 for the WESC Foundation, a specialist day and residential centre for young people and adults with visual impairment including complex needs in Exeter, Devon.

The year-long fundraising campaign, Wheels 4 WESC, aimed to raise funds towards a new minibus which thanks to the success of the partnership has now been purchased. Sponsored charity Spinathon gets a last-minute reprieve

A 3 hour non-stop, charity spinathon will go ahead this Saturday, despite original plans being foiled by the fire at the Exeter Riverside Leisure Centre.

The charity event, which will see participants taking part in three hours of non-stop high intensity ‘spinning’ on static bicycles, is taking place this Saturday (4 March) and was originally scheduled to be held at the Legacy Leisure-run Wonford Sports Centre using spin bikes from the Riverside Leisure Centre.

RGB selects Children’s Hospice SW as its charity of the year

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to announce it has selected Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as its chosen charity and will be fundraising for the cause throughout 2017.

Having had a phenomenal response to its Christmas Present Appeal in aid of CHSW at the end of 2016, when in excess of 250 gifts were donated by RGB customers and staff, the builders merchant is looking forward to continuing its support.
