The Boat Shed Pop Up opens in Exeter

This summer The Boat Shed Pop Up will transform two derelict warehouses on Exeter’s quayside into a new creative venue for the city.

Alongside a programme of theatre, comedy, art and music, The Boat Shed will house a cocktail bar, a goats milk ice-cream parlour and a mini golf course.

Local artist Fi Russell has been commissioned to design the golf course which will be inspired by the stories and heritage of Exeter.

With nine holes to complete, players will be challenged by Exeter’s ancient Roman wall, they’ll skirt around the sleepers of the city’s first railway...

Appeal after woman is sexually assaulted in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of a sexual assault in Exeter in the early hours of Sunday morning [4 June] between 3.15am and 3.40am.

A woman in her 20s was approached from behind by an unknown man who sexually assaulted her at the junction with Mount Pleasant Road and Thurlow Road in Exeter.

Detective Sergeant Guy Biggar said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who saw anything suspicious.

Bridge Road in Exeter closed overnight

Bridge Road in Exeter is due to be closed overnight on Monday 5 June for ongoing improvement work.

The road will be closed from 8:30pm and will re-open by 5:30am the following day.

The diversion route will be signed via Topsham Road, Alphington Road, Marsh Barton and the A379 and route details are available here .
