Muddy Dog Challenge which raises vital funds for thousands of homeless dogs and cats at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is coming to Exeter for the first time this April.

On Saturday 13 April hundreds of participants and their dogs will jump, crawl and wade through an obstacle course like no other in the beautiful setting of Powderham Castle.

There is a choice of 2.5km or 5km dog-friendly obstacle runs and participants can choose to enter by themselves, or as a dog and human team. Or take on the challenge as a family with the kids and four-legged friends for a fun day out to...

Local Volvo retailer, Kastner Exeter, recently celebrated its relocation to a brand new Scandinavian style Volvo showroom.

Relocating from their old site on Sigford Road, Kastner Exeter’s new site at Waterbridge Court, Matford Park Road has undergone a complete renovation to meet Volvo’s new VPS (Volvo Personal Service) standards. Benefits include a luxurious Scandinavian-style lounge where you can relax, continue with your work or watch your Volvo's service through panoramic glass walls.

Overnight resurfacing and repairs planned for Exe Bridges

Exe Bridges will undergo essential repairs and maintenance during overnight work in March and April. Work to reconstruct and resurface the two bridges will start on the evening of Monday 4 March and is expected to take around seven weeks. Most of the work will be carried out from 6:30pm to 7am, although some daytime work will be needed on occasions. The existing road surface is in need of reconstruction. A successful school leader has been appointed as the new Headteacher of ACE Special School Tiverton (ATSS) prior to their opening in September 2019.

Bags of help centenary grants to deliver huge funding boost in Exeter

Tesco is marking its centenary by offering community projects in Exeter the chance to bag their share of a huge £100,000 funding pot.

As part of the supermarket’s anniversary celebrations, community organisations from across Exeter are being invited to share in the funding during two special Bags of Help voting rounds.

Bags of Help, run in partnership with the charity Groundwork, sees funding awarded to thousands of local community projects every year. So far in Exeter Bags of Help has awarded £110,408 to 32 local projects.

The Devon Cattle Breeders Society National Show

This year, the Devon Cattle Breeders Society returns to its native county to host its national show at Devon County Show 2019. The Devon Ruby, a beautiful breed with its signature deep, rich, burnished red coat is internationally recognised for its ability to produce the very finest marbled beef on a low maintenance diet. The Show is expecting up to 100 Devon Reds on site competing in the show, along with a new young stars competition dedicated to young handlers.

Local community invited to view proposals for Exmouth Junction site in Exeter

A public exhibition will give local residents the opportunity to view and comment on Eutopia Homes’ plans to redevelop the land at Exmouth Junction, Prince Charles Road, with a major new residential development which will include a mix of new homes for sale and for rent.

Eutopia Homes is looking to engage with the local community on their proposal before a planning application is submitted to Exeter City Council.

Overnight closure planned on Bridge Road in Exeter

Bridge Road in Exeter will be closed overnight on Thursday 28 February The road will be closed for one night, from 8.30pm to 5.30am, while minor remedial work is carried out.

The closure, from Countess Wear roundabout to Matford roundabout, will enable maintenance to be carried out to the Swing Bridge. Small areas of pavements will also be resurfaced and high friction surfacing will be applied to manhole covers.

The diversion route will be signed via Topsham Road, Exe Bridges, Alphington Road, Marsh Barton and the A379.
