Latest Neighbourhood Action Day brings together more than 30 volunteers to improve North and South Street and show pride in the city they share.

More than 30 people took part in the latest Neighbourhood Action Day on Wednesday 3 June, giving over 90 hours of their time to help improve Exeter city centre despite the rain. Their efforts showed the real, visible difference community action can make.

New £12m Centre for Law and Social Sciences opens at Exeter College

Exeter College has opened its new Centre for Law and Social Sciences, transforming the College’s city centre Hele Road campus and creating a modern learning environment for students studying A Level Geography, History, Law, Politics, Sociology and Psychology.

The celebrated expert Todd Gray, Devon’s highest profile historian, is to discuss one of the most fascinating but least well known activities of World War Two in a special lecture this month.

In the late 1930s and throughout the War, a social research organisation called Mass Observation recruited local diarists to capture the everyday lives, thoughts and feelings of ordinary people.

Thousands of these diaries are housed in the Mass Observation archive, but those for Devon have not been publicised - until now.

Rowcroft Hospice completes major refurbishment to improve accessibility and comfort

Rowcroft Hospice has completed a refurbishment of its Inpatient Unit, made possible by a government grant to improve the hospice’s buildings, facilities, and equipment. The work has focused on making the hospice in Avenue Road, Torquay, more welcoming, accessible, and comfortable for patients and their families.

Women’s baseball players from across the region will descend on Exeter next month for a special tournament celebrating the growth of the sport and encouraging more women and girls to get involved.

The Exeter takes on London to Paris cycle for Macmillan Cancer Support

UK health and life insurer The Exeter has announced that seven of their colleagues are preparing to cycle 340 miles from London to Paris in June 2026, as part of a major fundraising effort for the company’s corporate charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
