Appeal launched to 'Save a School' this Christmas!

Exeter Steiner School is running an appeal to help save it from imminent closure, which would leave over 40 pupils and families without a school the week before Christmas.

The campaign to raise the £20,000 needed is already well underway with over £4,500 raised in the past five days. Donations and pledges are being gratefully received, as well as sponsored events such as a Tai Chi Walk on Sunday 16th December, where father and trustee of the school Joe Salmon will attempt to walk the 12 mile Exeter Green Circle Path using only Tai Chi and Qigong moves.

Exeter gets infested with Zombies

On Saturday the city centre was infested with zombies as part of a Halloween celebration. The event started at Exeter city centre bus station. It then proceeded down Sidwell Street, through Princesshay, The cathedral green, then onto The Phoenix Arts Centre. The event was organised by Exeter’s Phonic FM and The Phoenix. People came to the march from all over Devon, and one woman said “We did this last year and it was very fun. So we did it again. We travelled from Paignton, but it is so fun it is worth it.”

The Women's Wildlife Group invite you to visit the RSPB's Aylesbeare nature reserve - spend the morning on Aylesbeare Common followed by lunch at The Diggers Rest in Woodbury Salterton. Meet at 10 am in the reserve car park. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Aylesbeare is an RSPB heathland reserve and is nationally important for its resident Dartford warblers which we may be lucky enough to see. Also to be seen are stonechats, yellowhammers, linnets and pipits. Four of the six British reptiles occur here - adders, grass snakes, common lizards and slow worms. More species...

Y-Walk: Join Exeter YMCA for a trek across Dartmoor

Join Exeter YMCA for an 11 mile trek across the rugged and spectacular paths of Dartmoor, from Okehampton to Postbridge. At the end relax with a meal at the historic East Dart Hotel (included in registration fee).

By taking on this challenge you'll raise much needed awareness and funds to help young homeless people across Devon have a brighter future.

The War Graves of Higher Cemetery

Exeter School join 50th annual Abbots’ Way walk

Over 80 pupils, and the training team drawn from staff, parents and governors, took part in the annual Abbots’ Way walk from Buckfast Abbey to Tavistock on 7th October.

The Abbots’ Way is an ancient track way across Dartmoor from Buckfast Abbey to Tavistock. It is 24 miles long and includes sections of the high moor.
