Appeal launched to 'Save a School' this Christmas!

Exeter Steiner School is running an appeal to help save it from imminent closure, which would leave over 40 pupils and families without a school the week before Christmas.

The campaign to raise the £20,000 needed is already well underway with over £4,500 raised in the past five days. Donations and pledges are being gratefully received, as well as sponsored events such as a Tai Chi Walk on Sunday 16th December, where father and trustee of the school Joe Salmon will attempt to walk the 12 mile Exeter Green Circle Path using only Tai Chi and Qigong moves.

The school will also be carolling outside John Lewis in the city centre on Saturday 15th December from 1pm, where there will be opportunities to donate.

The children who attend Exeter Steiner School benefit enormously from the education offered, which already shares a number of likenesses with the recommendations found in the Cambridge Primary Review (http://www.primaryreview.org.uk/).

The school also provides an alternative for children who have struggled to achieve their potential in a mainstream setting. Three of the nine-year-old students - Maeve, Marli and Nikita - have put together an album of ten songs, which is available to download for a small donation at http://christofferdegraal.bandcamp.com/album/happiness
