Entries are now open for the Michelmores Charity 5k Run, which will take place on 8 September 2016 at 6.30pm.

This year the Exeter law firm is aiming to attract a record 1,200 runners, encouraging local people and businesses to get together to celebrate the city of Exeter and to fundraise for Michelmores' local Charity of the Year, Balloons, who support bereaved children and their families in Exeter and beyond.

Women's Running 10k comes to Exeter

On Sunday (26 June) Women’s Running magazine, Solgar Vitamins and its Women’s Running 10K race will be arriving in Exeter for the first time, promising a fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere at the picturesque Riverside Valley Park.

The race is expected to be filled with women of all ages and abilities taking to the start line.

Previous events around the country have seen an increasing amount of women taking part, showing that year on year, more and more women are hitting the pavements to run together.

What an amazing Exeter Rainbow Run! With 1700 runners, steel drummers, Storm Troopers, Heart FM and bouncy castles, this year’s Children’s Hospice South West’s Rainbow Run was the best yet! As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations for the charity, the run started with silver streamers and the record number of participants enjoyed a madcap, mayhem of riotous colour as they ran through the paint stations along the course. parkrun celebrates five years at Killerton

This Saturday hundreds of runners will tackle the 5km course at the National Trust’s Killerton estate to celebrate the fifth anniversary of parkrun and will be baking a birthday cake to mark the occasion.

Killerton was the first National Trust property to work with parkrun to host the popular 5km run.

The free run takes place every Saturday at 9am, and the number of runners has grown from 44 at the first Killerton parkrun to over 370 on the busiest ever day. The parkrun organisers hope to break the record this week as the event reaches its five year milestone.

This year's Exeter Great West Run will take place on Sunday 16 October.

Pulse Sport ( www.pulsesport.co.uk ) has taken on the management and organisation of the run, and are pleased to confirm the appointment of Exeter-based race organiser Mark Cowen as Race Director.

Charlotte Harding, her mum, Sue and friend Mouna Souyad all have a very special reason to take part in next month’s Exeter Neon Night Run.

Exeter Hospiscare nurses and doctors cared for their good friend Mary Christopher at the city’s Searle House Hospice.

The Neon Run, on Saturday 28 May, will raise funds for the hospice which is a local charity, helping local people.

Heart FM in the South West has signed up as the official media partner for Children’s Hospice South West’s 25th Anniversary Rainbow Run to be held on June 11 at Exeter Racecourse.

Richard Spencer, Managing Editor at Heart’s broadcast centre in Exeter said: "We’re delighted to be involved in this year’s Rainbow Run in Children’s Hospice South West’s 25th anniversary year. Exeter Neon Night Run is back!

On 28 May over 1,000 runners will be taking to the city streets and glowing for their local hospice charity.

The 5k sponsored run starts and finishes at the University of Exeter, with runners being entertained by music as they head towards the city centre.
