Chiefs side to face Wasps

In what has been the strangest, toughest, yet - at the same time - most memorable Premiership Rugby campaign ever, it now comes down to just one final fixture.

For the newly-crowned European champions, Exeter Chiefs will rock up at Twickenham tomorrow for a fifth successive outing in the end of season showpiece (6pm).

Rob Baxter's side are well-versed in prepping for a big day out at English Rugby's HQ, but that doesn't mean they merely have to turn up and believe a potential domestic and European double is a mere formality.

Standing in their way will be an in-...

Exeter Chiefs side to face Toulouse

Exeter Chiefs Director of Rugby, Rob Baxter, has challenged his side to ‘make things happen’ ahead of their Heineken Champions Cup semi-final against Toulouse at Sandy Park tomorrow (3:30pm).

In what will be the Devon club’s first-ever semi-final at this level – against opposition they have never faced before – the stage is set for the Chiefs to break new ground and firmly underline their emergence as one of European Rugby’s rising club forces.

In a profitable campaign which started last November with a bonus point victory at La Rochelle and continued with success over...

Rob Baxter insists his Exeter Chiefs side can ill afford to take their mind off matters in the Gallagher Premiership, even though a mouth-watering European Champions Cup quarter-final tie looms large on the horizon.

Having banged in five wins out of five since the top flight started last month, the quest to secure home advantage in the Premiership play-offs remains a key objective for Baxter's table toppers ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Gloucester (5:30pm).

The Devonians produced another hugely impressive display in defeating Northampton Saints 22-19 last Friday, a...

Whilst it may be seen as a step into the unknown for some, Rob Baxter says the challenge of getting his Exeter Chiefs squad primed and ready for midweek fixtures is something that is largely ‘exciting’ for him and his players.

Just four days after claiming maximum reward from their 32-22 win at Sale Sharks, the Chiefs travel to local rivals Bristol Bears tomorrow night for their Round 15 Gallagher Premiership encounter at Ashton Gate (7:45pm).

In what is the second of three fixtures in just over a week for the table-topping Chiefs, Baxter - like his coaching counterparts...

The waiting is almost over. Gallagher Premiership Rugby returns to Sandy Park, but not quite how all of us remember it.

For the Exeter Chiefs, it's been a long wait - 161 days to be precise - for them to restart a campaign which, to date, has produced a formula that has not only driven them to the summit of English rugby's top flight, but has also positioned them nicely in the last eight go Europe's Champions Cup.

Tomorrow, Rob Baxter's squad return to competitive action at Sandy Park (2pm) looking to pick up from where they left off back in early March. On that occasion...

Steenson agrees contract extension at Chiefs

The cast list of Exeter’s promotion-winning heroes of 2010 may be dwindling, but one of them is at least set to extend his stay with the Chiefs for a while longer.

Long-serving fly-half Gareth Steenson has today put pen to paper on a contract extension that will allow him to see out the remainder of the 2019/20 season with the Devon club.

Like club-mate Phil Dollman, who himself agreed a similar deal last week, both will form part of Rob Baxter’s squad as they gear up for next month’s return to action in both the Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup....

Walsh joins the Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs have today added to their playing ranks with the capture of promising fly-half Jack Walsh.

The playmaker has agreed an initial one-year deal with the current Gallagher Premiership leaders, arriving in the Westcountry from Australia where he has been playing his club rugby at Manly Marlins.

Welcoming the 20-year-old on board, Chiefs’ Director of Rugby, Rob Baxter, said: “He is one of those guys who has ended up here probably on the flip side of what was going on with COVID-19. We were looking at seeing what options were around and what would fit in and Jack...

Rowe 'overwhelmed' by support shown from Chiefs fans

Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, says he has been overwhelmed by the support already shown by the club’s season ticket holders during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

With no rugby played since the Chiefs defeated local rivals Bath at Sandy Park back in mid-March, it’s proved a testing period for everyone as they look to get to grips with the crisis that has struck all corners of the world.

Thankfully, there appears to be a glimmer of light for all clubs, including the Chiefs, with a proposed restart date of Saturday, August 15.
