Exeter Bach Society Concert - Hail, Bright Cecilia!

The Exeter Bach Society choir, conducted by its Musical Director David Davies, will perform a concert entitled Hail, Bright Cecilia!

The programme comprises the title work by Purcell, two Coronation Anthems by Handel, Rejoice in the Lamb by Britten and ‘antantibus Organis by Peter Philips. There are four soloists and the organist is Jonathan Watts.

Major music festival to be staged at Westpoint Exeter

Local business-woman Rebecca Weaver with extensive experience in the hospitality industry is to open an exclusive live music destination in Exeter. Located in Cowick Street adjacent to St. Thomas’ station, Charlie’s Live Lounge will cater strictly for the over 25s’ market. It will offer three floors of entertainment and hospitality and will open to the general public on the weekend of Friday 8th November featuring local bands.

Oxjam music festival takes over Exeter to raise funds for Oxfam

Over £2,750 was raised for Oxfam last weekend, when 60 artists and bands played live across Exeter for The Exeter Daily-sponsored music festival, Oxjam Exeter Takeover.

Exeter was just one of up to 60 towns and cities across the UK that took part in the festival, all on the same weekend.

Events began at midday on Saturday and included acts performing in Princesshay, the Guildhall Shopping Centre and Exeter Phoenix.

Over the course of the weekend, festival goers enjoyed music at several other locations in the city, including The Cavern, The Oddfellows, The Globe Inn...
