On Saturday December 7th from 10am to 5pm there will be a carol singers, a string quartet, the seven swans a swimming, a special festive wrapping station, the chance of children to find the Festive Ferret in all participating shops in order to win a prize and much more. It’s also Small Business Saturday, which is being supported by the FSB, so we’ll have a visit from the Mayor of Exeter and Ben Bradshaw MP to promote how wonderful Exeter’s independent shops are.

Chefs at Strada in Princesshay are sharing their skills and knowledge to teach families how to make pizzas at a special half term workshop on Sunday 27 October, in aid of WESC Foundation, Princesshay's nominated charity of the year.

Art activity family drop-in

THG are running a family drop-in art activity making paper lace jewellery from 11am to 4pm.

This fun half-term activity will involve making brooches, fascinators and bangles from a combination of real and paper-cut lace.

Suggested donation is £2 per child.

The event is suitable for children six years old and upwards.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, as this workshop involves using sharp scissors.

Saying goodbye: Exeter Cathedral service for those who have lost babies

Exeter Cathedral will host its second Saying Goodbye service this month, to help parents who have lost babies in pregnancy through miscarriage, still birth or other trauma, and in infancy.

The first such service was held last year in Exeter, and since then 22 services will have been held in other towns and cities.

Two free, family, drop-in and draw events at Devon Guild this half-term. Enter a special creative space in the gallery where you can draw, design and make a Venetian-style Halloween mask and lace-based patterns for a collective wall decoration.
