Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park today announces substantial investment during 2014, which will see five new rides and a themed indoor area open.

Chris Down, Managing Director and one of the family owners of Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park said: “Thanks to our guest feedback we are excited to be able to bring some fantastic new rides and attractions to Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park. As a family run business, we are looking to continue investing in the Park to ensure that the guest and member experience is exceptional.

“We’ve had a successful summer seeing a substantial increase in visitor numbers.  The fantastic weather helped draw high numbers of tourists to the region and also meant that many locals chose to stay in the area.  It is great that we are able to make this announcement following this.

“In 2012, we invested heavily in Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park, opening Crealy Meadows Caravan and Camping Park next door which has been a huge success.  With glamping, camping and caravanning options and top of the range facilities, we are confident that this will continue to go from strength to strength.

“Our expansion plans include the addition of five new rides, varying from family rides and a selection of children’s indoor rides, including a junior coaster. We will also be adding a new heated indoor themed play area called Atlantis, which has an underwater theme and will feature a large soft play area and a new refreshment outlet serving coffee and cakes.  We will also be introducing a new animal encounter show, as well as a bug and creepy crawly experience

“We will be continuing to invest heavily in our current food offering and adding a self-service option as well as expanding our ever popular Mamma Mias Pizza Pasta buffet. There will be additional healthy options and a change to our coffee brand.

“We are investing just over a million pounds and anticipate creating another six to eight jobs.  This decision was taken following a fantastic summer and detailed market research, including focus group feedback, 2014 will see our biggest investment to date, demonstrating our continued commitment to growth and providing a value, family fun day out.

“We hope that our surrounding communities will embrace our changes and we will be concentrating on encouraging parents with pre-school children to enjoy our new Atlantis experience, alongside developing exciting experiences for the older children. Having listened to feedback from our members and guests, following February Half Term, we are equally excited to announce that we will be open all year round. We will continue to support and source local produce as well as working to encourage guests to visit East Devon, which will in turn have a positive impact on the local economy.

“We have always been a family owned attraction and the family unit is the base of everything that we have built upon over the last 24 years. We have always appealed to locals and holiday makers alike. We remain competitive and offer a quality product whilst constantly looking at ways to improve our guest experience following their feedback and suggestions.

“We are all very excited about our plans for 2014 and celebrating our 25th Anniversary with our guests throughout the year - it’ll be our biggest and best year yet.”

Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park is the South West's number one all-weather family day out, boasting over 100 acres of fun and attractions and welcomes nearly half a million guests each year.
