Crealy wins award for third year running
Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park has been granted the overall winner of the Primary Times Reader Star Award and the winner for the Best Family Attraction in Devon for the third year running. Crealy Meadows Caravan & Camping Park also won the hotly-contested category of favourite Holiday Destination with its new glamping and camping site.
The hugely popular all weather family attraction won a large percentage of votes across a number of different categories demonstrating its versatility and ability to accommodate the needs of the local family market.
This highly regarded award recognises favourable, local family friendly places and people in Devon.
Over the last few years the reader response to the Primary Times Reader Star Awards has steadily grown, verifying the vast family appeal of many attractions and family entertainers in the region.
Parents of children aged 4 to 11 across Devon were asked to complete a survey that appeared in this family friendly magazine that is distributed to 90% of primary schools across Devon and taken home directly to mum and dad via the children. In addition, many families cast nominations online via the Primary Times website – www.primarytimes.net
Families were faced with a series of straight-forward open-ended questions. Suggestive questions and multiple choice answers were deliberately omitted from the survey to test for unprompted responses. The answers were intriguingly revealing, portrayed an honest reflection of where people prefer to spend their leisure time or buy their goods, and provided a vital snapshot of what’s popular with local families.
Readers completed a survey that appeared in the October issue of Primary Times asking them for their favourite family attraction; family eating place; indoor play centre; stately home or historical attraction; swimming pool/leisure centre; party venue/entertainer; craft activity provider; children’s clothes/shoe shop; toy shop; shopping centre, bike store and holiday destination. There were individual winners for each category and an overall winner was chosen from the highest number of total votes across all categories.
