A new app released in 2020 is helping carers of those living with dementia to generate fun and joyous activities to keep minds active during lockdown. SSAFA donate Christmas hampers to local armed forces community

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity has donated 60 hampers to local members of the Armed Forces community in need this Christmas.

The SSAFA Devon branch has donated 60 hampers and 28 gift cards across the county to those in need this Christmas across the local area.

On Tuesday 10th December, the charity hosted a hamper presentation at the Exeter Guildhall where the Lord Mayor Councillor Peter Holland presented ten hampers to local beneficiaries.

WALKERS, hikers, climbers and families from Devon are being asked to come out in force to help clear litter and tidy-up at a popular beauty spot near Exeter next month (January 27, 2018).

Taunton Leisure – Exeter, which is on Fore Street in the city, is organising the litter pick at Chudleigh Rocks (south side) on Sunday, January 27 from 10am until 4pm.

Mortgage repossessions increase whilst all other sectors fall

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, has reported a 6.1% increase in the number of mortgage repossession cases listed at Exeter County Court in the year-ending 31st March 2018. This is in comparison to the same period in 2016/17.

Steve Barriball, Citizens Advice Exeter Chief Executive, said: “In the last year there were 560 cases listed for repossession, an overall decrease of 5.6%, or 33 cases, on the previous year. However, there was an increase in mortgage repossessions, which were up by five cases.
