24,000 school children have set out their vision for how to make the internet a safer and more enjoyable place, as part of the largest schools survey about internet safety conducted in the UK.

Halloween and half term = fun for everyone

Where oh where did the first half of term go? Half term always catches me by surprise, but thankfully lots of people in Exeter have been busy thinking ahead and planning a host of half term activities to entertain your children and at the same time probably give you a bit of a breather. This coming week is, of course, also Halloween, providing even more opportunities to get active in and around the city.

Sportshall Indoor Athletics

Sportshall, the popular and successful program of indoor athletics which teaches and improves children core sporting skills is back in Exeter. Running at Clifton Hill Sports Centre on selected Sunday afternoons between October 2014 and March 2015, children and their families can enjoy throwing nerf howlers and light up glitter shot balls, trying their hand at long jump and triple jump, or joining in the fun of relays and hurdles.

Families Exhibition at Topsham Museum

Topsham Museum holds over 80 family trees kindly donated by members, visitors and local residents and the first exhibition of the 2013 season will explore some of the many families with Topsham connections, show archive photographs and memories of their lives.

A seminar is taking place for those wishing to begin researching their family history and also some help sessions for more experienced researchers:

Family History - how do I start? with Mike Mayo (DFHS) - a seminar at the museum on Tuesday 16 April, 5.30pm, £7.50 per person, including tea and cake.
