Lympstone textile artist Jenny Moon makes a welcome return to A la Ronde with her exhibition of exquisite and colourful collages. The exhibition can be seen free of charge, in the stable and award winning tearooms from 10 to 23 April, 10.30am - 5pm. The pictures of fabric and stitching depict sea and boats, the countryside and clusters of cottages.

Philip Clayton Since graduating from Central St. Martins, Philip Clayton has combined his painting life with a career in art education. His work concentrates on recording the environment, especially landscape, using the medium of oil paint ‘en plein-air’. This exhibition will feature scenes from London, France and Devon.

Pupils' banners on display in Cathedral

Some 750 children from schools around Exeter have been working with education officers to create stunning banners on the theme of Reading the Cathedral.

Exeter Cathedral marks its 900th anniversary this year and the banners are on display in the nave.

The exhibition has been sponsored by the Exeter Episcopal Trust.

Education officer for the Diocese of Exeter, Tatiana Wilson, said it was wonderful how the Cathedral will still so important to young people’s lives in Exeter.

The art work of seven Exeter School pupils has been chosen to appear in The Marle Gallery’s “Before They Were Famous” exhibition from 8 March to 5 April 2014.

Five current GCSE and A Level Art pupils and two former pupils have been given the opportunity to see their work hung in a professional gallery.

Artist Mick Abbott is returning to A la Ronde after his hugely popular 2013 series of paintings based around the ceramics collection at the house. This year he will be taking the visitor on a very different journey to discover the boat building heritage of the local area.
