Local sporting events were photographed as communities played their part in preparing for the Games. Devon Business Expo sets date for next year

The inaugural Devon Business Expo 2014 organised by thebestof Exeter held at Matford Centre Exeter and opened by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, attracted over 600 visitors from across the county and as far as Bristol and London. As a result of the popularity and success of this, the first Devon Business Expo, thebestof Exeter has already named the date for next year’s event as 30th April 2015.

Valiant Soldier exhibition marks Devon town’s role in Great War

Buckfastleigh’s time-capsule tourist attraction, the Valiant Soldier, is putting on a unique local exhibition about World War One.

It opens at the end of May and features artefacts, photographs, information and personal memories. The exhibition will display items ranging from German, French and British helmets to cards and gifts sent to the troops from the people left at home.

The exhibition is part of a series of events called Buckfastleigh Remembers.
