The Royal British Legion Poppy Day is on 13th November.

We all know how much and how many depend on The Royal British Legion and a successful Poppy Day Appeal. The need for help is still as great as ever and we need to show our support for all members of the Armed Forces, retired members and their families.

Devon has always given generously. I am confident this year we will all “wear our Poppy with pride” – and with thankfulness.

Oh the fire in the Clarence Hotel Is too sad to even tell All that history up in flames Visitor books full of names People travelled there from afar To sample a tipple at the bar To seek the delights of Exeter Then back to the lounge to confer On wonders found And sights seen all around The Cathedral can tell the story Standing opposite in all it’s glory It has seen folk come and go The jolly ebb and flow Now we seek memories and a photograph Stories of your stay some sad, some with a laugh Another piece of history gone Fate has dealt it’s hand and won And as we mourn it’s demise We seek...

Chiefs side to face Bath Rugby

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter may have seen seeds of encouragement during his side’s European Champions Cup loss in Belfast last week, but he insists there is still plenty of room for growth moving forward this season.

After back-to-back European losses against ASM Clermont Auvergne and Ulster, Baxter’s side return to domestic matters this Sunday with a mouth-watering showdown against local rivals Bath at a packed out Sandy Park (3pm).

With just two wins on the board so far this season, the Chiefs - who still sit fifth in the current standings - know they need to...
