Chudleigh woman dies in crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision at Chudleigh yesterday (Wednesday 16 November) in which a 60-year-old local woman died.

Emergency services were called at 3.40pm after the collision between a Ford Fusion and a Mitsubishi L200 Trojan at Milestone Cross.

The Ford was heading along Milestone Lane from Chudleigh and the Mitsubishi was travelling from the direction of the Whiteway Estate when the collision happened at the crosswords.

Wilkinson Grant pledge to support Exeter’s homeless

Leading West Country Independent Estate Agents, Wilkinson Grant & Co have launched their annual campaign to raise awareness and help the homeless community in Exeter.

The agency has pledged to donate gifts to homeless individuals for each property they list for sale, or to let, before Christmas.

This year they have added a further dimension to the campaign by also pledging to make an additional donation to YMCA Exeter for each property sold or let in that time.

Ashwoods Electric Motors receives £1.7m innovation grant

Exeter-based automotive engineering specialists Ashwoods Electric Motors and partner organisations have been awarded a £1.7million government grant to develop cleaner and more efficient vehicle component systems. The award from the Advanced Propulsion Centre was announced by Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, at Innovate 2016 on November 3rd.

Members of Gilbert Stephens’ Young Professionals Network (YPN) recently hosted a tasty networking session at Exeter Cookery School, one of the region’s hottest new culinary destinations.

Having been handed three recipes by the school’s head chef and tutor, Jim Fisher, the group was divided into teams and then let loose on the kitchen to create three festive canapes. East Devon’s Cotley Farm’s welcomed a baby reindeer to the herd in May this year.

It’s rare for baby reindeer to be born in this country – and to survive, as the survival rates are not high over the first few months. The last calf the farm are aware of being born in the Westcountry was in Cornwall in 2010.

Plans for major redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station move forward

A leading city councillor has welcomed progress on the multi-million pound redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station.

And the authority has pledged that everything will be done to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum while the work is being carried out.

It comes as members of the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) backed highways works needed to create a temporary bus station in the city centre at a meeting on Monday.

Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman both from Kent, changed the norm and brought punk back to our charts in 2014. A Brothers Grimm spell has been cast over Killerton this Christmas.

For the first time, the National Trust property will be transformed into classic fairy tales with a festive twist from Saturday 19 November.
