Exeter Chiefs duo Jack Nowell and Olly Woodburn are to switch on the city’s festive lights tonight.

Two talented young researchers at the University of Exeter Medical School have been awarded prestigious Industrial Innovation Fellowships by the National Environment Research Council (NERC) for their work on antibiotic resistance and our natural environment.

Exeter University injects £1.1 billion into economy, generating 11,000 South West jobs

The University of Exeter injects more than £1.17bn into the economy and generates almost 11,000 jobs in the South West, a major new study has revealed. An analysis of the economic impact of Exeter University found that in 2015-16 it injected £540 million (output) into the economy of the city of Exeter alone, helping to create more than 5,300 jobs in the city. Lidl UK opens new £55m regional distribution centre in Exeter

Lidl UK has officially started operations from its new Regional Distribution Centre in Exeter. This £55 million investment has created approximately 500 jobs and will service 40 stores across the region during the busy Christmas period, rising to 51 from February 2018. The sexual health teams at The Centre in Exeter and Barnstaple, part of Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, are taking part in National HIV Testing Week, which runs from 18-25 November 2017. A Diabetes expert is recruiting hundreds of people with a recent diagnosis of the disease to an ongoing clinical trial.

This World Diabetes Day, Dr Angus Jones is looking for people who were diagnosed with diabetes in the last year to participate in a clinical trial, with the long-term aim of improving diagnostic accuracy.

World Diabetes Day is organised by the International Diabetes Federation, and aims to bring attention to important issues in the Diabetes community. An estimated 4.5 million people are living with Diabetes in the UK alone.

YMCA Exeter’s 8th annual Santa Abseil from Princesshay car park returns once again on Saturday 9th December.

Dressed in Santa suits, local people of Exeter, from amateurs to abseiling veterans, will be challenged to take on the 100ft abseil down Princesshay car park to raise funds and awareness for youth homelessness over the festive season.
