The WESC Foundation’s decorated tree has been named winner of Princesshay’s Charity Christmas Tree Festival, featuring thirty-five trees decorated by charities from across Devon.
The popular annual Christmas Tree Festival, located on Roman Walk, Princesshay, was officially opened on Friday 17 November by the Lord Mayor of Exeter and will be in situ until Christmas Eve. Runners up were FORCE and the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education.

Police were called just after 9.15am on Thursday 25 November with reports of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and an 86-year-old local woman on Cowick Street, Exeter.
The serious collisions unit attended the scene to undertake initial investigation work.
The woman was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with serious injuries including a fractured skull and injuries to her leg.

Residents from across Devon have been inspired to recycle more food thanks to a series of composting roadshows.
More than 1,000 pledges to recycle food waste were made by residents visiting one of the 11 road shows across Devon.
Composting is the most effective way to reduce waste - at least 30% of the contents in an average household bin can be composted.
The roadshows, run by Recycle Devon, aimed to inspire more people to either compost food or garden waste at home, or make use of their food waste collection in areas where they have one.

RGB Building Supplies raised £2,150 for Children’s Hospice South West during its charity breakfast morning on Friday 3rd November.
The event saw visitors to RGB’s Exeter branch make a donation in return for a bacon roll with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the charity.

A new community space that will benefit thousands of people is rapidly taking shape in Topsham. Work on the Estuary Community Hub started in May and is scheduled to be completed and ready to open next summer. The largest Olympic-style youth sports event in the region has awarded its 20th anniversary finals to Teignbridge district for 2018. Dawlish is set to host the South West Rotary Youth Games finals on Saturday 7 July.
