A new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the M5 at Exeter has successfully been lifted into place over the weekend.
The 60-metre span Tithebarn Lane bridge was positioned alongside the existing overbridge, just north of Junction 29 of the motorway, overnight on Saturday (18 November) evening. It took 3.5 hours to fully rig the 750 tonne crane and the bridge lift started at 12:30am. Dr Rachel Palfrey, 46, from Plymouth, has donated 30cms of her hair to the Little Princess Trust – a charity which provides real-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to the effects of chemotherapy and other illnesses.

Versatile £15,000 sports wall will be an asset to town thanks to S106 contributions from property developers building in Budleigh
In a joint project run between Budleigh Salterton Town Council and East Devon District Council, a brand new £15,000 sports activity wall is now in place in the town.
Over 300 people in Budleigh Salterton originally had their say on how to spend money on outdoor sports in the town a couple of years ago – their priorities were for a new outdoor gym and foot/cycle path improvements for The Green. Both of these have happened now.
