Charity funding for adapted trike sees disabled 11-year-old cycle for first time since brain injury

An eleven-year-old boy, who was a keen cyclist before he suffered a severe brain haemorrhage over three years ago, is now able to ride a bike for the first time since his injury after a children’s charity provided funding for a specially adapted trike.

Jimmy, who lives in Exeter, suffered a spontaneous bleed to the brain after a family day out. Despite his family being told there was little chance of survival, Jimmy pulled through but as a result suffered devastating injuries. Police expand infrared lighting on Speed detection vans

Devon and Cornwall Police have recently introduced Infrared ‘low Light’ camera technology within Plymouth and have now expanded their innovative equipment across the Force area.

The use of such use technology intends to reduce the amount of fatal and serious road traffic collisions on Devon and Cornwall roads.

Passionate volunteers in Exeter are being asked to come forward to help form a new fundraising group to support Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The UK’s leading dementia research charity is looking for people with a range of skills to help set up the group, which aims to raise vital funds and awareness across the region.

Members can get involved in a variety of ways, from getting stuck into fundraising challenges that raise money for pioneering research, to representing Alzheimer’s Research UK at events and spreading the word about the charity within their local communities....
