An Exeter School pupil has been selected to join the England Development Programme for Under 16 Cricket. Upper Fifth Exeter School pupil Ben Green, who has just returned from a stint as captain of the South and West U15 cricket team for the Bunbury Festival, was notified of the honour by David Graveney, a leading figure in English cricket and former chairman of the England Test selectors. Prestigious national engineering scholarship awarded to two Exeter School pupils

Sebastian Wright and James Krafft from Exeter School have been awarded a sought-after Arkwright Engineering Scholarship that identifies them as some of the country’s future leaders in engineering and related areas of design. Seven Exeter School pupils have been awarded Arkwright scholarships in the last four years. The renowned Arkwright Engineering Scholarships provide pupils with a £600 financial award to enhance their A Level studies and a range of activities to increase their understanding and experience of engineering. New look for Exeter School as pupils return for the Autumn term

Exeter School has had a busy summer while the pupils and teachers were on holiday. A major programme of building and refurbishment has been completed, to bring the facilities right up to date just in time for the new school year which starts today (4 September). The Sixth Form have a completely refurbished and extended centre, complete with study and seminar rooms, a lunch facility and new furnishings. GCSE German pupil takes first prize in Goethe Institut Digital Days Competition

A GCSE German pupil from Exeter School has taken first prize in a prestigious Goethe Institut competition.

Middle Fifth (Year 10) pupil Katie Hayman was awarded first place in the News Reading category of the Digital Days Competition for which she had to film herself reading the news in German.

Katie beat almost 150 applicants to win a £50 prize and impressed the panel of judges who said it was very difficult for the selection panel to come to a decision.

All time high GCSE results for Exeter School

46.9% of grades A* and 80.3% of grades A* or A Exeter School pupils, parents and staff are celebrating another round of consistently good GCSE results which have set two new records in excellence. 46.9% of all grades were A*, beating last year’s record of 46.5%, and 80.3% were A* or A grades, compared to last year’s 75.5%. 99.5% of grades were A* - C. Exeter School’s U15 Cricket Team have added to their recent trophy haul by becoming West Of England Cricket Champions at the Final held in Sherborne on Wednesday 3 July. And the cherry on the cake is that it has just been announced that Exeter School pupil Ben Green has been named Captain of the South and West U15 cricket team for the Bunbury Festival, taking place at Durham University on 21-26th July 2013. UK Festival of Hockey success

Three Exeter School boys played in the UK Festival of Hockey, coming second in the tournament - and two were selected to represent the UK. Fourth Form boys Ben Crocker, Will Sliver and Bill Taylor represented the U13 West of England hockey team, the West Panthers. A new perspective on art that touches all the senses

Exeter School is to exhibit artwork produced by WESC Foundation pupils and students for the second year running. An exhibition of sensory artwork produced by visually impaired artists will be held from 18-21 June, 10am – 3pm, in the Andrews Hall to which all are invited, beginning with a private view on Monday 17 June from 6-7.30pm. Exeter student wins place at London dance school

Stephanie Gomm from Exeter has been accepted for professional dance training at one of Europe’s premier schools for dance training and education, Central School of Ballet (CSB) in London, which is this year celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Stephanie, aged 16, has been dancing since she was just three years old.
