The wining partnership between Exeter Chiefs and Exeter College has been celebrated, after Exeter College’s U18 team recently won the AASE League for the first time.

Exeter College won the AASE League Championship Final at high-profile venue Allianz Park, London.

Exeter College has been shortlisted for four coveted awards including ‘College of the Year’ and ‘Teacher of the Year’ accolades, in the Times Educational Supplement Further Education Awards 2017.

As well as being nominated for the College of the Year, Exeter College is also a finalist in a number of other categories.

Exeter tops the table

Exeter College has been placed in the top spot in a league table of colleges published by FE Week, an industry leading publication focused on delivering the latest further education and skills news.

The table was compiled using a points based system, with points awarded against a number of key criteria published by the Department of Education. Each college was scored out of a possible 16. A process that saw Exeter College score a perfect 16, something no other college was able to achieve.

Exeter College has been named as the number one further education college in the South West for its Apprenticeship programme for 2016.

The Skills Funding Agency also placed the college within the top ten of Further Education College’s in the UK, with record breaking success rates of 86% propelling them to the top of the regional table. It comes as the college recently welcomed the next generation of Apprentices who have started on the college’s award-winning Apprenticeship programme.

Exeter College is celebrating its best ever A Level results - with an outstanding 99.8% pass rate.

Students from all four corners of Devon and further afield amassed excellent A level results, with more than half - a staggering 54% - achieving the very highest A*, A, and B grades.

As well as highest number of students achieving straight A* and A grades, the college celebrated 100% pass rates in 33 of its 38 A level subjects.

Outstanding year of International Baccalaureate results at Exeter College

Exeter College students are celebrating another outstanding year of International Baccalaureate diploma results.

Four students achieved 40+ points putting them in the top five to ten per cent of students in the entire world – equivalent of five A Levels at A/A*.

The international points average for the IB is currently 30.07 for May 2016 (accurate at the time of printing on August 15th). At Exeter College, the average points score was 32.5. Exeter student duo win national education awards

Two Exeter College students have been crowned winners at a coveted national educational awards in London.

Samuel Guy, from Sampford Peverell, near Tiverton, won Outstanding Sport Student of the Year at the National BTEC Awards, and James Steel, from Crediton, won Outstanding Hospitality and Travel and Tourism Student of the Year, at the National BTEC Awards.

Exeter College raises over £13,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust

Exeter College raises a record breaking £13,470.71 in support of Teenage Cancer Trust – the most ever raised by a college for the charity in the South West.

Over the past year, students and staff have come together to raise funds for the college’s Charity of the Year Teenage Cancer Trust – the only UK charity supporting 13-24 year olds with cancer through their specialist nursing staff and units. Ride Lon-done: Geraldine completes 100-mile Brompton challenge

A former Exeter College student has completed her huge cycling challenge on a tiny bike in support of the BBC Media Action’s life-changing work around the world. Geraldine Sweetland, originally from Farway, cycled 100 miles on a folding Brompton bike as part of the Prudential RideLondon Surrey100 event on Sunday 31st July. Young people benefit from supported internships at the RD&E thanks to partnership with Exeter College

Young people with learning disabilities are benefitting from a new training initiative provided at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital in partnership with Exeter College.

The Trust has been selected by the college to provide supported internships to help young people develop some of the skills they’ll need for the workplace.
