Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park is inviting intrepid youngsters to come along this half term and become a Crealy Explorer by taking part in their Explorers' Week. Using an ‘Explorers' Map’ guests can follow the trail and solve the clues around the park to win a medal and the chance to take part in a daily prize draw!

"Can we fix it? Yes we can!" Stuck for things to do on the bank holiday? Crealy has the answer. Bob the Builder enjoyed himself so much last time, he is heading back to Crealy Great Adventure Park.

A real treat for every young builder, Bob appears in mini shows in the Show Dome at intervals throughout the day with Wendy and Spud, recycling rubbish and building a ship sailed by Captain Spud with a little help from their imagination.

Zip-lines for tigers!

Paignton Zoo in Devon has built a zip-line for its tigers.

Keepers at the park – a registered charity – have devised the thrill ride with help from woodland adventure company Treesurfers.

In fact, it is the big cats’ lunch that will ride the zip-line – all the tigers have to do is catch it.

Senior Head Keeper of Mammals Matthew Webb explained: “We have used things such as hanging bags in the past to encourage them to get a bit more physical. Now we have the zip line, down which we can send meat for the tigers to chase and jump at.

Exeter Racecourse’s Family Day on April 2 looks set to be one of the best free days out for children during the Easter holidays. And with two adults tickets available for just £15, it’s without doubt one of the best value for money days there is.

There are stacks of things for children to enjoy, including a behind the scenes tour of the racecourse, a running race down the home straight on the race course, face painting, a quiz, the chance to go on an equine simulator and pretend you’re a jockey and question and answer sessions with some of the country’s top jockeys.

An Arctic zoo, charity giving and a children’s TV favourite all feature at Living Coasts over the Christmas period.

Santa is bringing his toy zoo to Living Coasts. A special Grotto will be surrounded by snow scenes filled with cuddly Arctic animals, including Arctic fox, reindeer, snowy owl, Arctic hare and polar bear. Eskimos – themselves an endangered species – will also feature.

What better way to say thank you and celebrate with Dads than a day out together as a family!

Race him to the top of the Vortex to ride the triple tube water coaster and climb aboard the Flying Dutchman Swinging Galleon. Once you’ve tired him out, explore the Adventure Zone while he relaxes in the Sandcastle Beach Bar.

Gorillas heading to Exeter to celebrate birthday!

The South West’s top zoo is celebrating its 90th birthday with an ambitious plan combining art, conservation and the community.

The Great Gorillas Project will bring a host of life-size model gorillas out into the streets, parks and open spaces of the English Riviera and Exeter. The gorillas, sponsored by businesses and community groups and painted with original designs by local artists, will be displayed in public, creating a unique art trail.
