Racing action returns to Newton Abbot

The action returns to Newton Abbot on Friday 12th June for the racecourse’s next fixture of the season, which will be followed by live music from local band Station Road.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has made two entries for Friday’s feature race at Newton Abbot, as he looks to add to his already impressive record at the course.

Nicholls notched a treble at the last meeting to take his tally at the course over the last five seasons to 36 wins. Not only is his winning total well ahead of nearest rivals Philip Hobbs and Jonjo O’Neill, but his strike rate of 33% sets him...

Racing starts at 18:00, with gates opening at 16:00. The last race is at 21:00.

Newton Abbot set for second evening fixture

It’s the second evening meeting of the summer at Newton Abbot on Thursday 30th April with the first race, the Newtonabbotrace On Twitter Maiden Hurdle, due off at 16.45.

With 132 horses having been entered across the seven races, including fifteen in the feature £10,000 Newtonabbotracing.com Handicap Chase over three and a quarter miles, a good turnout is expected.

Season opener looms for Newton Abbot

Hot on the heels of the Cheltenham Festival, jumps racing is set to return to Newton Abbot Racecourse on Wednesday 25th March as the racecourse make their final preparations for the start of the new season.
