Residents living close to a pedestrian crossing where a 12-year-old boy was killed, today said they had predicted a serious accident would happen there.
The collision with a lorry happened on the crossing on the Topsham side of Countess Wear roundabout last Thursday afternoon (28 August).
The boy, from Exeter, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The lorry driver was uninjured.

Driving Instructors across Devon are using social media to help with a police appeal for information following the death of a 12-year-old in an accident with a lorry.
Exeter Advanced Driving Instructors reported the incident on their Facebook page and asked for witnesses to come forward.
One of them, Martyn Morris, who runs Trident Driver Training, said: "We are trying to find out if anyone was in the area or if anyone saw anything. We realise in situations like this any snippets of information can help."

A community was today in mourning after the death of a 12-year-old boy following a collision with a lorry in Exeter.
Flowers were laid at the scene of the accident on the junction of Topsham Road and the Countess Wear roundabout.
Among the heartfelt messages was one which read: “The little lad with the biggest, cheesiest smile. Taken far too soon. RIP little fella. Bunches, Shannon, Alfie and Ellie xxxxx”.
Another read: “I send my love and thoughts to your family at this hard time. You were not alone in your final moments on this earth”.
There was anguish etched on the faces of motorists and pedestrians as they passed the spot where a 12--year-old died after being in collision with a lorry.
The boy was crossing Topsham Road close to the Countess Wear roundabout when the accident happened.
He was treated at the scene but died soon after from his injuries.
Many drivers waiting at the traffic lights where bouquets are starting to appear shook or bowed their heads in sorrow.
Some pedestrians, including a mother with her own young son, stopped to read the tributes in silent contemplation....
A motorcyclist was left in a serious condition following a collision on the A35 near Honiton. Police, ambulance and the air ambulance attended the incident which took place at 12.50pm at the junction of Ramsden Lane, Offwell. The collision involved a black Suzuki motorcycle, being ridden by a man in his fifties, and a red Toyota Yaris, being driven by a man in his eighties. A woman has been rushed to RD&E hospital following a serious collision near Tiverton. Emergency services were called to the scene, near Tiverton Golf Club, at 8:37am this morning (Tuesday 27 May). Two vehicles were involved in the collision one of which had left the road and overturned in a field. One casualty was taken by ambulance to RD&E hospitial to be treated for head and chest injuries.
