CHRISTIAN RIBEIRO's last-gasp winner sealed Exeter City all three points against Hartlepool United at St James Park.

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale named an unchanged line-up from last week's win over Leyton Orient for the visit of Hartlepool, with Joel Grant and Lee Holmes returning to the squad to take places on the bench. Legendary commentator praises Chiefs

Legendary rugby commentator Ian Robertson has revealed Sandy Park is one of his favourite grounds to visit.

The former Barbarian was the guest speaker at the pre-season dinner at Sandy Park in aid of The Exeter Foundation.

After entertaining the 300-plus audience with his anecdotes on Saturday night, he revealed his passion for the Exeter Chiefs.

He said he loved visiting Sandy Park and would be back in November.

Mr Robertson also praised the achievements of head coach Rob Baxter and the team.

Cycling trio raise £1,408 for Exeter charity

Three local men have completed the challenge of a lifetime by cycling the length of the country to raise funds for Exeter charity Rainbow Living’s third Rainbow house.

Over 13 days, Duncan, Will and Jools spent an average of eight hours a day in the saddle cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End. The trio braved torrential rain, lashing winds, and mile after mile of vertical ascent followed by steep slippery descents. Herds of cows, flocks of sheep, punctures, saddle sores and overall tiredness may have slowed them down, but they were not deterred during their 1,000 mile journey...

Only 20 months after taking over the business, Hanlons Brewery is now happily established in its new location in Half Moon Village, near Exeter. The business has grown from strength to strength and is seen as one of the leading West Country Breweries.

In 2014 Hanlons Port Stout received a Gold Award from Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) South West and was subsequently asked to be a guest beer at this year’s Great British Beer Festival held in Olympia in August 2015. The Champion Beer of Britain is an award presented by CAMRA at this festival which is held annually.

Refugee rally attracts 600 supporters

Six hundred people gathered outside Exeter Cathedral this Saturday 12th September, in response to the escalating European refugee crisis. The shocking pictures of children dying in the Mediterranean, and reports of treacherous journeys being undertaken to escape war and persecution, stirred the hearts and minds of the people of Exeter to help. The compassion rally was called to show the government that refugees are welcome in Exeter and to ask the government to do more to help refugees.
