The collaboration is being supported by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care South West Peninsula (PenCLAHRC). It will...

City held to a goalless draw by York

Match Report: Exeter City 0 York City 0

Paul Tisdale made two changes to the side which won at Dagenham & Redbridge in midweek, with Matt Oakley and Arron Davies both coming into the side. York, meanwhile, included James Berrett, who scored their winning goal over Yeovil Town on Tuesday.

The visitors began the game on top, but failed to create any clear openings in the opening exchanges. As City started to grow into the game, they showed promise along the flanks, with Lee Holmes popping up on both sides and looking bright, but they also suffered from a lack of chances....

Senior policeman renews mental health fears

A senior policeman has once again taken to social media to raise concern about the amount of police time being taken up coping with mental health patients.

Devon and Cornwall Assistant Chief Constable Paul Netherton posted on his twitter account: "Yet again MH patients being kept in police cells as no beds available in D&C. NHS providing nurses to help but still no places #unacceptable"

Earlier this year Mr Netherton told Sky News his officers spend 20 per cent of their time dealing with mental health issues even though they are not trained or equipped to do so....

ONE of the great pleasures of watching amateur dramatics is getting to see a group develop and refine its craft over a string of productions. While faces occasionally change and the chosen material often greatly varies, there is always the feeling of incremental progress, raising a bar that has already been set very high.

I felt this way when I sat in the Broadclyst Victory Hall last Friday evening, watching the village's theatre group tackle Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters with affection and aplomb. Having...

The ride will begin at Combermere Barracks in Windsor...

Male bluebirds persist and shout

Birds ‘shout’ to be heard over the noise produced by man-made activity, new research has shown.

The innovative study, led by an expert from the University of Exeter, looked at how bluebirds altered their songs in response to increases in nearby background noise caused, in many cases, by human activities such as traffic.

It found that the birds altered their songs immediately after noise levels intensified, making ‘real-time’ adjustments in order to produce songs that are both louder and lower-pitched. The results suggest that birds are able to perceive increases in noise...
