Princesshay Car Raffle Volunteers Needed!

Exeter Deaf Academy is Princesshay’s official charity for 2016. As part of the Charity support Mercedes-Benz of Exeter has generously donated a Mercedes-Benz A class worth over £22,000 as a raffle prize, to be sold in Princesshay. 100% of the proceeds from this prominent car raffle will raise thousands of pounds for Exeter Deaf Academy.

The car raffle starts on Thursday 17th March 2016 and we require enthusiastic volunteers to sell tickets on our car raffle stand in the centre of Princesshay on Fridays and Saturdays from this date.

Cycle 55 or 100 miles on an organised ride around the beautiful Devon countryside.

There will food stops available along the way to give you an energy boost! Receive a medal when you arrive back at Topsham Rugby Club along with a very warm welcome! The Nello is not a sportive; it is a charity bike ride, raising vital funds for a local cancer charity.

The ride is NOT chip timed; it is NOT a race.

A bit like the Incredible Hulk, you wouldn’t like to see him angry.

However, as Rob Baxter emerged for his post-match press conference, Exeter’s commander in chief was still seething with rage at what he had just seen.

Former equestrian eventer and inspirational brain injury survivor Polly Williamson joins a packed programme of speakers at an upcoming brain injury conference in Exeter.

East Devon extends handy person scheme

East Devon District Council’s trial handy person scheme, which was due to end in February 2016, has proved such a success with council tenants across the district, that it is now being extended for a further six months until the end of August 2016.

The extension will give the housing service a full year’s worth of data to evaluate and the results will determine whether it is feasible for the council to run this service in the future.

Exeter School's F1 in Schools team, Burning Rubber, has won a place in the National Final of the STEM competition.

The team of six Year 10 pupils took four prizes at the F1 in Schools South West Regional Final held at Exeter University on Tuesday 1 March.

A pioneering new strategic research centre, that will aid health professionals to design bespoke physical activity and exercise plans to improve the everyday lives of young people with cystic fibrosis, has been launched.
