Written and directed by Katie Jones it promises a tale of mischief, peril and a resistance movement led by Max the Cat! A Senior Research Fellow and physiotherapist at the University of Exeter Medical School has been honoured with an MBE in the New Year 2017 Honours List.

Dr Vicki Goodwin has been awarded the honour, presented for significant achievement or outstanding service to Physiotherapy.

Queen awards Exeter academics in New Year’s Honours

Three outstanding academics at the University of Exeter have been recognised with prestigious awards in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list.

The University’s Provost, Professor Janice Kay, has been awarded a CBE for services to higher education. Professor Mike Depledge of the University of Exeter Medical School has been awarded a CBE for services to environment and human health after he set up a pioneering research centre in the field. Over 250 gifts donated to RGB’s Christmas Present Appeal

The generous local community and customers of RGB Building Supplies donated in excess of 250 gifts to the builders merchant’s Christmas Present Appeal in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.

RGB had been calling out for donations suitable for a child of any age or their parents and the gifts have now been given to Children’s Hospice South West to distribute to children and families.

Jewellery stolen in Mid Devon burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary near Tiverton.

A property in Withleigh was broken into between 2-5pm on Tuesday the 27th December.

A number of distinctive 22-carat items of jewellery were stolen including bangles, necklaces and rings, as well as the Kashmir style wooden box that they were being stored in.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and noted anything suspicious, or who has been offered any of these items for sale.

The Tesco Extra Exeter Vale store has donated festive food for this year’s Exeter Blue Light Christmas Carol Service. Led by the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust, the service took place at Exeter Cathedral on Monday 19th December and saw the South West emergency services, along with friends and family, come together to recognise the exceptional work they do.
