Devon author Kate Vane’s flash fiction appears in Adverbially Challenged Volume 2 , a new anthology which is published on Thursday 30 March.
The featured authors were challenged to write a 100-word story including as many adverbs as possible.
Kate said, “Most new writers use too many adverbs. I think it goes back to our schooldays, when teachers encouraged us to put adverbs in stories so we could learn how to use them. Creative writing tutors and manuals always tell you to cut them.”
The challenge in the anthology turned that advice on its head.
