Housebuilder makes key appointment in SW

Five star housebuilder Barratt Developments has appointed experienced property professional Steve Fowler to the post of commercial director for its Exeter-based operations which builds homes under the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands.

Steve has worked for a number of housebuilders and moves to the role in the south west from Avant Homes in Scotland.

“I have seen Barratt grow as a business over the years and joint ventures brought me into contact with a number of dynamic and effective people within the business so when I was approached to join the Exeter division it was an easy decision,’’ said Steve who is looking to cut his long commute by moving his family Devon this summer.

“Barratt has a great reputation and I’m thrilled to be part of the expansion plans for Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes in the south west,’’ said Steve.

“This is a really great opportunity for me to be involved in driving things forward and help create fantastic places for people to live.”

Steve is also looking forward to living in the south west – an area he knows well from his childhood. “My childhood holidays were often visiting and uncle in Cornwall so it’s great to be back in the south west and my wife and daughters are also looking forward to making the south west their home.”

In his new role Steve will be responsible for building strong relations with the Barratt supply chain and ensuring the company is the housebuilder of choice for a wide range of projects.

Barratt Homes managing director Paul Moran said he was delighted to have Steve as part of the team in Exeter.

“Steve has great experience in the housing industry and his commitment to quality and growth fits perfectly with our philosophy,” said Paul.
