Two weeks until UK’s biggest cycling, walking and scooting school challenge

With just a fortnight to go until the launch of the Big Pedal 2019, schools are being encouraged to sign up for the UK’s largest cycling, walking and scooting challenge.

Organised by the walking and cycling charity Sustrans, the competition runs from Monday 25 March to Friday 5 April and encourages young people to travel by bike, foot or scooter for their journey to and from school. World leading chefs - including Raymond Blanc - recently visited the Exeter College Michael Caines Academy and @34 restaurant.

The college was extremely proud to host some of the very best chefs in the world, including Raymond Blanc, Sam Moody and Gary Jones.

Exeter College’s U18 Academy has once again been invited to represent England Schools and Colleges, competing with teams from around the world, at the prestigious ‘Sanix World Youth Invitational U18 Rugby Tournament’ to be held in Japan this spring.

The event, hosted by the Japan Rugby Union, takes place in Fukuoka from 26th April – 6th May 2019. The Exeter squad is set to take on teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, France and Wales. In total there will be 10 international teams at the tournament competing over a 10-day period.

School Strike for Climate Change in Exeter

Students in Devon will be joining thousands of others around the country this Friday to take part in the first UK-wide education strike over climate change. The action is being coordinated by the UK Student Climate Network, a group of young people motivated by government inaction and determined to highlight the need for positive change to avert climate breakdown.
