Georgian Youngster Tchumbadze Becomes a Chief

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

“I’m well aware of the crucial role that forwards play in the team’s system, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Premiership.”

The Grecians unable to seal play-off place

Exeter City were unable to seal a place in this season’s Sky Bet League Two play-offs despite a 0-0 draw with Forest Green Rovers.

Despite Newport County only being able to collect a point at Morecambe, the Grecians just needed that all-important goal but it didn’t arrive despite a number of chances throughout the match. Manager Matt Taylor made one change to the side that started the win over Oldham Athletic last time out with Nicky Law missing out through injury and he was therefore replaced by Hiram Boateng in the City midfield.

THERE was great football and a fantastic final at the annual Exeter City FC One Game One Community Group futsal tournament, where 10 teams competed for trophies and medals.

In the final, “Space Raiders” beat “Ability Counts B” 4-2 following a well contested game. The tournament featured teams including refugees and asylum seeking young people, players with a disability and the recently formed LGBT team, Exeter Apollo.

Exeter School hosts British Shooting Target Sprint for third year - South West Championships 2019

Exeter School is delighted to host the South West Championships which will qualify athletes for the National Series 2019 and provide an opportunity for participants to gain a GB ranking and Super League points. After their recent win against Oldham, hopes of making the play-offs are at an all-time high. In fact, the club currently sits in the play-off places with a narrow two-point lead over the four teams below them in the table. Tough games against the likes of Cheltenham Town and Stevenage have certainly meant that the end to the season hasn’t been without its drama. So fans breathed a sigh of relief when Ryan Bowman broke the deadlock against Oldham in the 79th minute. Exeter City picked up a crucial three points as they kept up their hopes of a place in the Sky Bet Leagueb play-offs with a 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic.

Instead of snow, it was high winds and rain that tested the ever growing band of men who took part in Hospiscare ’s Men’s Walk this year. Just under 1000 resilient men signed up for the challenge, making it Hospiscare’s most successful Men’s Walk to date.

The weather conditions were again challenging but spirits were high as the walkers set off from the Double Locks pub. Along the route they were buoyed by an amazing team of dedicate volunteers offering support and encouragement.
