Curtain falls on Ladies Night at Exeter Racecourse

The curtain came down on Ladies Night at Exeter Racecourse on Friday evening, with a strong crowd enjoying the final fixture of the 2025/26 season in style.

A lively atmosphere and plenty of laughter set the tone as guests gathered for a fun-filled event. Sam Binney, visiting from Southampton on a hen do, was announced as the winner.

“This is really unexpected, and I’m actually quite shocked, if I’m honest. I was really worried about today, but I think it’s worked out well. I’m really excited,” she said.

Exeter City's big screen plans revealed

Plans for a giant new electronic screen at Exeter City Football Club’s ground, St James Park, have been submitted to the city council.

As part of major improvements this summer, the club plans to install the 8.64 x 5.12 metre (29 x 17 feet) LED scoreboard towards the corner behind the St James Road away end, nearest the recently built Stagecoach Adam Stansfield Stand.

Subject to approval by Exeter City Council’s planning department, the screen could be installed before the opening home League Two fixture of the season against Bradford City on Saturday 7 August.

Devon based pro cyclist Freddie Scheske will be hoping to make his Tour of Britain debut later this year after the first teams were confirmed for the 2021 edition of the race.

The University of Exeter student rides for Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling , which will also be competing at The Tour for the first time in September (5-12 September).

Ribble Weldtite is one of six British teams unveiled by The Tour, alongside Canyon dhb SunGod, SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling, Saint Piran and TRINITY Racing, as well as a Great Britain national squad.
