Red Dragonfly Productions bring the real story behind the legendary Chinese woman warrior that inspired Disney’s films to Exeter's Northcott Theatre on 12 February 2022, in time for the year of the Tiger.

But don't expect a fluffy Disney tale here, this Mulan is visceral. She is a warrior, a fighter, a woman who survived in a very male world for ten years without discovery. There is no perfect make-up, no singing animals, just a gritty story of a soldier.

Theatre company Red Dragonfly has been making East-Asian stories accessible to a British and international audience...

Covid-19 measures brought the world to a standstill. Industry stopped and only services that were deemed essential were allowed to function. Slowly the world has opened again and despite the rise of various variants of the virus, the world is turning and you need to get out in it.

If the lockdowns drove you nuts for one reason or another, here are some ideas to get you back out there.

Go for a Meal

Hospitality was hit hard during the lockdowns with many venues going out of business. According to Sky News , over 10,000 hospitality venues closed for good as a result of the...

What theatre performances to see in the UK

As a result of lifting pandemic-related restrictions, the maximum number of people permitted to attend performances climbed. Even though theaters and viewers can breathe in relief, tickets for many performances continue to be tough to purchase. Only services like CheapoTicketing still provide tickets for many hard-to-get performances.

Many people speculate about the potential of the theater's destruction for several years. Even if there is a widespread fallacy (or idea) that all theater art will eventually come to an end, it is simple to comprehend why people still go there. The...

Once again this year, all fingers are crossed that 'Beauty and the Beast'- Exeter's only professional pantomime- will be able to complete its scheduled performances and bring all the traditional family fun we need in 2021.

Husband and wife team Ian Berry and Tanya Euridge have used...
