Barratt Homes becomes Exeter College’s Employer of the Month

A local south west house builder has been recognised by Exeter College for championing apprenticeships.

Barratt Homes was awarded the title of Employer of the Month for its work with students and for appointing the UK’s first ever marketing apprentice, Barney Munn.

In addition to the new marketing role, there are 13 apprentices working towards their NVQ levels two and three at Barratt Homes across the region. They will be covering topics including carpentry with 10 bricklaying and one each in technical and commercial.

Exeter City are delighted to announce the signing of defender Dara O’Shea from West Bromwich Albion on a six-month loan deal.

£100,000 legacy project grant donated to Hospiscare

Popular Devon charity Hospiscare is to receive a whopping £100,000 donation from The Exeter Property Summer Ball Committee and the Exeter Foundation.

The Legacy Project Grant is the first to be joint-funded by both organisations and will pay for the vital refurbishment of a 12-bed ward at Hospiscare’s Searle House in Exeter.

Based in Exeter, Hospiscare was formed in 1982 with two community nurses and the hospice was opened in 1992.

With City Council elections taking place in May 2019, this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure they can take part.
