Farmwise Devon welcomed the ten thousandth primary school child through its doors at Exeter Westpoint Arena this week, as the event celebrated its fourth year educating children about where their food comes from.

Year two pupil, Katie Boore from Brixington Primary Academy, Exmouth, was among 1,400 children attending the event on Wednesday 11 October.

The interactive day was organised by Devon County Council and was designed to take primary school children on a food journey from field to fork using touch, taste and practical activities.

The prestigious awards recognise the district’s top sportspeople and their achievements, and this year will be held on Friday 2 December at Langstone Cliff Hotel, Dawlish Warren.

Rathbone Investment Management have made a significant contribution to one of the city’s biggest LEGO® models as part of their sponsorship of Exeter Cathedral’s Big LEGO Build. The Build is a major fundraising project to build a scale model of the Cathedral from 300,000 LEGO bricks, using a design by certified LEGO builders Bright Bricks. Visitors to the Cathedral are being encouraged to get involved, and for every £1 donated a brick can be added to the model. The Exeter City first team players and staff were given the chance to thank club volunteers for their help at a party after Saturday’s 0-0 draw Grimsby Town.

The event, which was organised by the club and the Supporters’ Trust, took place in the Paramount Personnel Lounge with more than 60 people in attendance.

Supporters’ Trust chairman Laurence Overend paid tribute to the volunteering ethos at Exeter City and manager Paul Tisdale also praised their work in his post-match comments.
