Teignbridge Sports Personality of the Year finalists revealed

Sport stars, volunteers, teams and coaches are all finalists in Teignbridge District Council’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2016.

The prestigious awards recognise the district’s top sportspeople and their achievements, and this year will be held on Friday 2 December at Langstone Cliff Hotel, Dawlish Warren.

Those honoured include athletes, teams, volunteers and coaches for their hard work and dedication to sport, health and physical activity across the district and many local communities.

There are 12 different categories with each one aiming to showcase the individuals and teams who have made a huge difference in sport, physical activity or health within Teignbridge over the last 12 months.

Teignbridge is pleased to announce Kitsons Solicitors as its headline sponsor for the third year running and many other well-known and established businesses have come forward to sponsor categories.

Cllr George Gribble, Teignbridge’s Deputy Leader and Executive spokesperson for Recreation and Leisure, said: “Each year our role as judges gets tougher and tougher because the nominations get better and better! We again we are grateful to Kitsons and all our category sponsors for their continued support for these wonderful awards. It comes in a year that Team GB excelled the Olympics and Paralympics We cannot wait for the big night and extend our good wishes to all the finalists."
