Exeter City Community Trust, the charitable arm of Exeter City Football Club, is stepping into a new sport as it joins a major national initiative to grow women’s rugby in the city ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

Runners complete the Exeter MoRuns

Hundreds of runners turned up at River Valley Park on Saturday morning to take on the Exeter 1.5k, 5k and 10k MoRuns, in a bid to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.

W.Bro John Haley the worshipful master of Noontide Masonic Lodge who are unusual in the fact that they meet in the daytime rather than in the evening at the hall in Courtland Road Paignton visited the Clic Sargent charity shop in Queen Street Newton Abbot accompanied by his wife Ann to meet Angie Stuart the shop manager.

The reason for their visit was to present Clic Sargent with a cheque for £342 which was raised by various raffles and drawers held throughout his year in office which culminated in a Ladies Sunday luncheon.

Staff from Old Mill raise over £2,600 running the Great West Run

Three staff from Exeter based accountants and financial planners Old Mill ran the Great West run on Sunday to raise funds for FORCE.

Stuart Coombe, Kim Barnard and Simon Cole have raised over £2,600 by taking on the Exeter half marathon in memory of their colleague Nick Baker, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2016.

FORCE is an Exeter based cancer charity that has been funding research and buying equipment to improve patient care since 1987.

For his crimes against dancing, the CEO of RGB Building Supplies was thrown into Exeter Castle’s prison on Friday 21st September as part of Children’s Hospice South West’s Jail & Bail fundraising initiative.

Kevin Fenlon’s bail was initially set at £999 and it was then down to him to invite friends, family, colleagues and RGB customers to donate to the worthy cause so he could be released. Seven of Hospiscare’s charity shops in Exeter, have joined forces with national careers app Debut and TV fashion expert Amber Butchart and will feature the ‘Dress to Impress for £10’ initiative from Monday 15th October.

The national initiative is being showcased at charity shops across the UK and will help improve job prospects for millions of individuals by providing access to interview outfits for only £10 and educate job seekers on correct interview attire.

Tesco colleagues across Exeter have thanked friends and family for their support in helping them raise £6,864 for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

This year, 245 colleagues from stores and distribution centres across Exeter joined women from all over the UK to take part in this year’s Race for Life events.

Race for Life is a series of women-only 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy events which raises millions of pounds every year for vital research in the fight against cancer.
