'Unseen' Bruce Springsteen Exhibition Tour to visit Exeter

The most extensive UK tour of fine-art photographs featuring Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band is set to visit Exeter in July. One of twelve dates nationwide, the tour visits a combination of great British horse racing courses & motor racing circuits, from Brands Hatch to Carlisle and Epsom to Oulton Park.

Research will help GPs diagnose dementia more accurately

Research at the University of Exeter designed to help identify patients with dementia and reduce the pressure on health services has received a generous boost of £120,000 from the Halpin Trust.

The research aims to help GPs make a swifter and more accurate decisions around diagnosis, meaning those who are in greatest need can be progressed more swiftly.

Timely diagnosis is key to ensuring people with dementia get the right treatment and support. Although more than 800,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with dementia, many more are never diagnosed, or are diagnosed too late...

A book that tells the story of Dartmoor, as seen through the eyes of eighteenth and nineteenth century artists, has recently been published. Researched and written by Peter F. Mason, Dartmoor, a Wild and Wondrous Region – the Portrayal of Dartmoor in Art, 1750 - 1920, accompanies the exhibition of the same name running at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) Exeter until 1 April 2018.

Plans to create a new leisure centre and bus station in the city centre have taken a step forward. Councillors last night (30 January) backed a recommendation which would see the current bus station continue to operate as normal until May.

Exeter had the tenth highest growth in private sector jobs in the UK last year, a new report has revealed. Leading local advice charity Citizens Advice Exeter, has today released its advice trend statistics for the period 1 April – 31st December 2017.

The charity has helped 7448 people directly with advice and information since 1 April. The overall advice trends, compared to the same period in the previous year, were as follows:

Overall, the charity saw a 4.8% increase in employment enquiries. The main changes being:

• 26.3% increase about pay and entitlements • 14.8% increase about employment tribunals and appeals • 37.0% reduction about terms...
