Rainbow Living is very excited to announce that the charity will be moving forward with another Rainbow House in Exeter.

Following a major strategic review, which included assessing local need, consultation and market review, Rainbow Living has decided to expand its services within the Exeter area.

Over the last 10 years, Rainbow Living has enjoyed success with its unique housing model, which enables adults with learning and other disability to live with their peers in specially adapted accommodation, designed to promote and encourage independent supported living.

The charity has continued to see growth in demand for its services and is delighted to have the opportunity to support another group of local adults with learning disability, and their families.

This will be the charity’s fourth house, with two already in Exeter and one in Torquay. To officially kick start the significant fundraising effort ahead, SING Devon and the Hothouse Band are holding a special fundraising concert for Rainbow Living on the 24th March.

Taking place at Matthews Hall in Topsham, the programme includes songs such as What Do I Know (Ed Sheeran), September (Earth, Wind & Fire), Mbube (original Zulu version of The Lion Sleeps Tonight), Love Rescue Me (Bob Dylan), Moondance (Van Morrison) and much more! Advance tickets are £5, or £6 on the door, with all proceeds going to Rainbow Living. Advance tickets can be booked by emailing t.a.rockey@outlook.com.

Rainbow Living’s Treasurer Ruth Airdrie, MBE, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be moving ahead with a fourth Rainbow House. The decision follows our recent strategic review, which recognised further need for our unique housing model amongst local adults with learning disability and requests from local families who would significantly benefit from our services.

“We never imagined all those years ago that we would now be in a position where we are undertaking a fourth project! We have a long journey ahead of us, but with the dedication and commitment of our amazing Trustees, volunteers and supporters, we are looking forward to what lies ahead!”
