Carolyn Matravers, an adviser at Exeter financial planning firm Old Mill , has been welcomed into the prestigious Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) organisation.

SOLLA was formed in 2008 as a ‘not for profit’ society dedicated to helping people and their families find trusted accredited financial advisers who understand the financial needs of later life.

SOLLA accreditation is the Gold Standard for later life financial advice, and all advisers have to pass a rigorous assessment and attain the required qualifications to gain accreditation.

King of the Jungle comes to the city

The King of the Jungle himself, Harry Redknapp, has announced that he will be coming to Exeter as part of his UK-wide tour.

Harry, whose football career spans over 50 years and is also famous for his time in the ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here’ jungle, will be keeping the crowds entertained with his hilarious tales at Exeter University’s Great Hall on Saturday, 22 June.

Patients can have their say on waiting for NHS treatment as part of new Exeter research which could influence health policy.

Members of the public are invited to take part in a workshop, held as part of a study examining how waiting for medical treatment is connected to people’s anxiety about their health, and how this time can be made more positive.

Members of Exeter Philharmonic Choir, which has recently raised money for the Lord Mayor's charity SSAFA Devon, attended a special reception and cheque presentation at the city’s Guildhall last week.

The event was to thank all the organisations who have contributed to a grand total of over £23,000 for SSAFA Devon, which provides practical and emotional support for serving personnel, veterans and military families.
