Entries are now open for the 2020 Michelmores Property Awards, which celebrate excellence within the South West's property and construction industry.

The Michelmores Property Awards are now in their 18th year and showcase the very best commercial and residential projects from the previous 12-months.

For 2020, a new Masterplanning for the Future category has been introduced. This category will shine a light on projects that are still at conceptual planning stage, and which will aim to create, shape, change and improve communities in the South West region.

The John Laurence Special Contribution Award has also been opened up to recognise both individuals and organisations who have made a significant contribution to the industry. This could be in terms of education, training, increasing diversity or inclusivity within the industry, investment in standards, procedures or techniques, or contributions to the community they operate within.

Winners of last year's property awards include, Taunton's Hydrographic Office winning Building of the Year Tolvaddon House in Camborne – the new home of LiveWest, taking home the Project of the Year (over £5m) category, as well as Bristol's 'Being Brunel' visitor attraction which took home the prize for Leisure & Tourism Project of the Year.

Emma Honey, Head of Property at Michelmores said: "The quality of the building projects and schemes coming to fruition across the South West, and the contribution of the individuals within the industry, has never been higher. As we move into a new decade, I look forward to celebrating the very best recent projects, which harness forward-thinking building techniques, sustainability and positive effects on our communities."

The Awards Dinner will take place at Sandy Park Conference Centre in Exeter on Thursday 11 June 2020.
