Did you know that quitting smoking is the most important thing you can do for your baby?

If you are pregnant and smoke yourself, or live with someone who smokes around you, your baby is exposed to a number of dangerous chemicals.

Your baby may receive a restriction in the amount of oxygen it needs, causing its heart to have to beat harder. Smoking can cause a greater risk of miscarriage and still birth and a lower birth weight.

After they are born, your baby is more at risk of ear infections and asthma. Plus they are more likely to become a smoker themselves....

John Lewis unveils 'everyday-hero' as new model

It's not the clean cut image you might expect from Exeter's flagship store but John Lewis has gone for, shall we say, a slightly more earthy image with its latest men's wear model.

Out has gone the more traditional smooth, fresh-faced appearance for a rugged, bearded, 'deconstructed' look.

According to Matthew McCormack, John Lewis’s buying director, this new look ‘represents what the brand is about’.

He added: "He is a little deconstructed but kind of smart and has a great sense of style.

"He is a bit dishevelled and is deliberately growing his hair, but he...

Katie Hopkins: "I'll choose my children's friends"

Outspoken former Apprentice star Katie Hopkins has once again courted controversy by admitting that she won't let her children play with friends who she deems to be beneath them.

In an article in a national newspaper she says: "Call me controlling, call me ruthlessly aggressive. But I'm convinced one of the best things I can do for my children - India, eight, Poppy, seven, and Max, four - is to choose their friends for them."

Katie, who lives in Exeter, has in the past said that smokers should pay for their own medical treatment and that a female boss is a woman's worst...
