Engineering and construction faculties introduced to Importance of Work Experience

Exeter College is joining in celebrations for this year's Work Experience Week by offering learners in Engineering and Construction opportunities to find out the benefits of good quality work experience, which will be included as part of their full time course.

Work Experience Week, which this year takes place from 12th-16th October, is a week dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of high quality work experience.

CDS hits 200,000 broadband milestone

More than 200,000 businesses and households are now able to connect to fibre broadband thanks to the Connecting Devon and Somerset programme – around 185,000 of these are achieving superfast speeds.

The latest communities to ‘go live’ with superfast broadband in Devon include Cheriton Fitzpaine, Copplestone, Harbertonford and Sutton Cross. Fibre broadband has also been further expanded in exchange areas across the county.

SW sees slowest rise in output in 2.5 years

The South West private sector grew at the slowest rate in nearly two-and-a-half years in September, according to the latest PMI® survey data, mirroring the trend shown across the UK as a whole.

This mainly reflected the first decline in new business since March 2013. Employment continued to rise, but at the slowest rate seen across the UK. The latest survey also signalled a decline in input prices for the first time since December 2008.

Exeter hosted its final match in the Rugby World Cup tournament today (Sunday 11 October) which saw Italy beat Romania 32-22 and confirm automatic place at Japan 2019.

Italy scored four tries to three in defeating Romania 32-22 in the Pool D battle for third spot at Sandy Park and in the process gained a prized automatic berth at RWC 2019 in Japan.
