Christow Pre-school is delighted to announce that their new Forest School site will officially be opened on Saturday 14th November by Peter Harper, Chairman of Dartmoor National Park.

The Open Day, running from 3-5pm, will provide the community with a great opportunity to explore the site, meet the teachers and find out more about Forest School and the benefits it can provide.

This exciting project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund provides a unique outdoor learning environment for children attending the Pre-school, Community School and is also available for children attending other local Pre-schools.

The Forest School ethos is based around a fundamental respect for a child’s capability to investigate and explore the natural world. Based outside all year around, children are given freedom to explore, risk take and discover for themselves, promoting independent thinking and increasing self esteem.

The Open Day itself will take place in the specially designed site that includes a sheltered area, fire pit, bug hotel, tree house and much more.

On offer, there will be fire cooked refreshments, a woodland puppet show and Forest School craft activities for children.

Venue: Christow Forest School, Christow Community Primary School, Dry Lane, Exeter, EX6 7PE Date: Saturday November 14th Time: 3-5pm

Christow Pre-school and Forest School welcomes children aged from 2-4 years of age.

The Forest School sessions are also available to children attending other Pre-schools.
