Shakespeare's Second Folio Edition Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd April 2016 (during normal visitor hours)

The Cathedral Library's copy of Shakespeare's Second Folio Edition will be on display in the Cathedral for a limited time only to mark the anniversaries of William Shakespeare's birth and death (baptised 26th April 1564, died on 23rd April 1616).

This copy of the second edition of 'Mr. William Shakespeares comedies, histories, and tragedies; published according to the true originall copies' was printed in 1632.

Shakespeare Lecture 2016 Thursday 21st April 2016 at 19.00 in the Chapter House

400 years ago, in April 1616, William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes died within days of each other. In this lecture, our speaker Philip Schwyzer will explore some of the aspects of the work of these two great literary figures, and their continuing legacies.

The Cathedral Library's copy of the Second Folio Edition of Shakespeare's works (1632) will also be on display in the Chapter House.

Rising football stars at one of the region’s junior clubs are the envy of the Exeter & District Youth Football League after being reward for their hard work last season with a brand new training kit, courtesy of a local courier firm.

St Martin’s FC’s Under 15s team has been given the strip by sponsor, Deadline Distribution Services, based on Marsh Barton Trading Estate, Exeter.

City centre based Exeter estate agency, Naomi J Ryan, made a special visit to St Leonards based Kinderkare Nursery in the run up to the Easter weekend.

Naomi and Vanessa from Naomi J Ryan visited Kinderkare’s Clever Crocs on 24 March as part of their efforts to be a part of the local community. This fun filled day at Kinderkare, which provides nursery care to those aged between 3 months and 5 years, included making Easter garden cakes, colouring in egg pictures and potato printing. They finished off the morning with an Easter egg hunt, prepared by Naomi J Ryan.

Above average clinical care at RD&E for ‘End of Life’ patients

The quality of clinical care for patients nearing their final hours or days at the RD&E is above the national average across a range of key indicators, according to End of Life Care Audit released on 31 March.

The 2015 audit, carried out by the Royal College of Physicians on behalf of NHS England, found that in the majority of cases RD&E clinicians had documented evidence clearly identifying End of Life patients in the hospital.

The audit also found that in more than 80% of cases, there was documented evidence that RD&E clinicians had given End of Life patients...

Firms urged to comply with new register

Leading South West law firm Stephens Scown LLP is warning companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) that they must complete their register of Persons with Significant Control (PSC) by 6 April – with failure to undertake this being a criminal offence committed by the Company and its controlling officers.

Introduced under the Small Business Enterprise and Employment Act 2015, the PSC register is designed to record which people own or control a company or LLP so as to provide greater public transparency. The register will also help combat the issue of shell companies in...

Help mend popular Dartmoor bridleway

There is not much time left to help raise £10,000 towards repairs to the badly eroded Nun’s Cross bridleway near Princetown.

The Mend Our Mountains campaign was launched by the British Mountaineering Council earlier this month and will run until 16 May.

Working with eight national parks, they hope to raise more than £100,000 to repair damaged paths.

This is a fundraising appeal with a difference - powered by crowdfunding.

Through this campaign on Dartmoor, BMC are trying to raise funds to repair severe erosion on the spectacular and ancient Nun's Cross...
