Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. The apprentices will combine on-site experience with classroom learning as they work towards their Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications. The Devon launch of a national project to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 took place at an Exeter primary school on Tuesday (October 12) with a ceremonial tree planting.

The Queen’s representative in Devon, the Lord-Lieutenant David Fursdon, and the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Lady Arran presented a Pyrus Calleryana Chanticleer, also known as a Chanticleer Pear, to Wynstream Primary School.

Exmouth to host three-evening live music event next summer

A huge music event, which is expected to attract some of the UK’s hottest artists, is coming to Exmouth next summer.

‘Live in Devon’ will take place at the Imperial Recreation Ground, Imperial Road, Exmouth, on three consecutive evenings - Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September 2022. The events are likely to attract more than 15,000 music lovers over the course of the weekend and bring a significant economic boost to Exmouth and the wider area.

The headline artists for each of the shows will be announced in the coming weeks.

Wheelchair user to complete charity marathon in one month for Hospiscare

Chris Long, a wheelchair user with cerebral palsy and a customer of Bluebird Care Exeter, is spending October fundraising for Hospiscare, by partaking in their Marathon in a Month event.

He was inspired to take part after seeing a poster on Exeter’s Quayside during one of his regular outings with his Bluebird Care Exeter Care Assistant. He told the Care Assistant that he would love to take part and signed up.

Chris’s mission is a challenging one. During October, participants must cover 26.2 miles, in their own way and at their own pace.
